(7 December 2022 - Hong Kong) On December 6, 2022, the Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index released the latest 2022 assessment results and report.
China Modern Dairy Holdings Ltd (“Modern Dairy” or “the Company”, Stock Code: 1117.HK) up from 48th place to 24th place among 60 global animal protein producers, was the most improved performer, ranking No.1 among Chinese companies covered by global Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index.
The Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index mainly focuses on assessing the significant ESG risks faced by meat, dairy products, and farmed and fishery companies. The main purpose is to allow investors to take sustainability into consideration when deciding on investment targets. FAIRR's assessment and the Index Report is available to FAIRR investor members - 360 investors representing $US 70 trillion, and the Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index currently covers 60 publicly traded protein producers globally. The evaluation ranking is based on the performance of each company in 10 risk and opportunity indicators, including greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation and biodiversity, antibiotic use, animal welfare, food safety, and working environment. The data are comprehensive, accurate and authoritative.
Taking the Road of Green and Low-carbon Development and Leading Industry in Carbon Emission Reduction

Excellent Performance and Outstanding Achievements Wining Well-deserved Praise
Modern Dairy's 2022 interim results was impressive, with sales revenue of 5.63 billion yuan, a YoY increase of 77%; net profit recorded 530 million yuan, a YoY increase of 5%. After excluding the impact of non-cash exchange and financial instrument gains and losses, the adjusted net profit was 729 million yuan, a YoY increase of 49%. In April 2022, Modern Dairy was honored to join the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) to fulfill its commitment to sustainable development. In participating in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) questionnaire, Modern Dairy's total ESG score has increased significantly, exceeding the average score of 341 peer companies around the world. In June, Modern Dairy submitted CDP's climate change questionnaire for the first time; and won the “Best ESG Award” of US "Institutional Investor" magazine, which is well-known in the global investment community. In August, the Company's board of directors established the ESG committee to further practice the ESG philosophy. In November, Modern Dairy, as the only dairy farming company, participated in the world-renowned "27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27)" and displayed its achievements in green transformation and climate innovation in the Green Zone of the Conference.
